here is the photo of New Year Eve 'celebrations' in Manchester some of you mentioned......
this photo was mentioned in the media as being like a Renaisance painting in format. The second version has a computer program 'paint' applied to it. The third one has the 'golden section' ( the traditional and classical systemn to organise a painting in order to make it easy to look at) applied over it, amplifying the focal point. You can see that the action in the foreground and mid distance, epitomised by jagged and uneven shapes, contrasts with the buildings and vertical lines in the background which give a feeling of 'security' and the 'establishment'.
