some pics here of our model at last Monday's class

the Portrait class on Monday.....not so many people there last Monday so for those of you who weren't there please bring water colours, as I thought we could try a two colour water colour painting of our model. You could also do this with acrylics or oils just adding plenty of medium to make a fluid result.
Two useful colours could be blue and brown, or yellow and dark green, see you on Monday....
Someone in the class mentioned as artist called David Lobenberg, look him up for some vibrant portraits.

Portraits

we started out looking at hands, but I wanted to focus on the way hands move and work, so here we have some 'action' drawings, look closely and you will see a lot more going on than you thought!

yet more trees, but getting more 'painterly' all the time, so you can see ideas here taken from or based on photos, but maturing into something more specific to try to engender a feeling of a certain atmosphere, defined by the colours and quality of light in the image.
