SUMMER SCHOOLS!

Join us on a Summer School, carefully designed to take place during school term time to ensure a quiet and serene atmosphere.....
Lots to do and see at Glandford, including a visit to the Shell Museum, Two days Life Drawing one in Reepham and one in Marsham, Chinese painting with paint and Chinese Ink, a Steamy Visit to Weybourne Station, Lino Printing with Paul, and learn how to make Pastels work for you with Audrey at Hindolveston. I hope there will be something for everyone. What I try to do is lay on experiences to expand what we do during normal lessons. Please let me know as soon as you can if you are interested in any of them as I need to confirm bookings with the places and people involved.

to the 2015 Norfolk Bird and Wildlife Fair at Mannington Hall

lots of birds to see, and nature stuff in general, and we spent a while talking to David Ord Kerr, a really professional artist whose work you might see at the Westcliffe Gallery in Sherringham. His website www.davidordkerr.com will show you his work.

Saturday....

to King's Lynn on Saturday to see a replica Kogge, a medieval trading ship, and enjoy the Hanseatic festival on the quay and at Hanse House...

Marsham...

so here are more people working from their own 'Large Piece of Turf'.......
The bee in my bonnet just now is that you can take any subject matter, real or photographic or painted, and use it for your own purpose, selectively choosing the areas and aspects which work for you, and putting them together in your own unique way. I think this is a really important thought process, and once learned is can be extremely liberating and creative.

Sunday 3 May 2015

and Turf at Hempton too....

Durer's 'Large Piece of Turf' comes to Cawston......

so here are the group working from real live subject matter,
using various sorts of ink for a strong black and white visual effect

Portraits in Cawston.....

So here you can see one of our models working, (and it is 'work') and the artists at work too, and working from the model is surprisingly tiring!
