Spend a day Drawing at Gressenhall

next Tuesday 6th December join me for a day drawing in the Super-Store at Gressenhall Rural Life Museum. We are lucky enough to be given access to the fascinating storage area, for this one day, to work from the odd mix of subject matter. Call me for details.....phone number below to the right.....

I have secured another model for Monday's Portrait session. So there will be one female and one male, and plenty of room for you to work and see your model. Bring a drawing board, A3 size paper and charcoal or what ever you would prefer to work with, any queries call me......

if you want to practise portraits you could, (apart from, or in addition to coming to my portrait days next, and the following week) watch Mastermind. There seem to be two or three consistant camera angles, so that if the camera moves off someone when it returns it is in the same poitition so that you could continue with your sketch.

look at the Victorians.....

in case you missed Jeremy Paxman talkng about 'The Victorians' you can see the episode on Victorian Painting via I player, BBC 4. Victorian artists were great story tellers, and there is explanation of how the artists wove stories, information and symbols into their paintings.

Winter School Tasters....

PORTRAITS….. practise your Portraits, 2 x 3 hour sessions, Monday 21st November and Monday 28th November from 1.30-4.30. Different models. Free tea and coffee, easy parking at Cawston Village Hall.

£30 for both sessions, (or £18 for just one)

A day at the Museum. The SECRET SUPER STORE at Gressenhall is open just for us to spend a day drawing, on Tuesday 6th December, 10-3-30. Free tea and coffee, easy parking. Bring your own lunch as the rest of the museum and cafe are closed for the winter. £35.

£10 deposit to secure your place please, let me know asap to confirm models, hall bookings etc…

Secrets of the Super Store........

The Super Store at Gressenhall Museum is a repository for a huge variety of stored exhibits from the various museums in the county. The visual richness of this facility is extraordinary. It lends itself to wonderful exciting drawings, where the juxtaposition of one exhibit with another creates very unusual imagery. To me it is the contrasts and unusual shapes which are fascinating and invite me to sit down and start drawing.......join me for a Winter School Day at the Museum...
