...lovely veg, fresh on your doorstep.......

If you are interested in getting freshly picked veg from Eves Hill, Booton, then look on line for a drop off point near you. For £7 I get a small veg bag, as you see here, which this week included a bag of very mixed salad leaves, chard, cucumbers, french beans and the first tomatoes. All delicious!

Join us at Felgrigg Hall for al fresco drawing......

well, we really enjoyed our Drawing Walk at Blickling, ( we paused for just twenty minutes to half hour intervals to draw, and then moved on to a different scene) did loads of work, and really enjoyed the challenge. I'm so sorry I forgot to take any photos to show you where we were and what we did.

Anyway Mary and I, fired with enthusiasm (as she says) are going to do it again......at Felbrigg Hall
....the date is Wednesday 21 August, 10-12.30, though of course you could stay on as long as you wish. We meet as near the Walled Garden as possible, and from there we think there will be a variety of vistas to enjoy. We will march determinedly past the cafe, (?) and I intend to suggest certain points of interest and contrast, and tactics for drawing, or painting.

My aim (sorry for being pendantic) is just to encourage you  (and me) to get out, enjoy the outdoors, and find a way to express it, so that you feel you could go and do it, even on your own, any time you want to......

This is a free event, the only cost is £3 parking if you are not a NT member.
If you have always wanted to do this and never quite got there do join us!
Mary and I will be there unless there is heavy rain, hope to see you........

Any queries call or email me or Mary......

( I have just realised that I have not left a double space after each full stop.
            Sorry J R-M!)

Drawing Walk at Woodgate Carpark, Blickling

this is a free event, do join us......

Hello everyone

This is to confirm the details of our sketching morning at Blickling.  We plan to meet at the Blickling bluebell wood / Great wood, Woodgate car park, directions below, at 1000 and aim to be there for about the same length of time as a class ie until 1230, but obviously you can stay for as long or as short a time as you like. The car park is free for members, but is £5 for non members. There is some parking on the verge outside the car park, but you may get a note from the NT telling you not to park there, so it is up to you. If you don’t want to park on the verge and you are not a member and  would like a lift with a NT member, contact Mary Luke, Annie Allen or myself.

Tina suggested that we do quick sketches, about 20 minutes each, looking for a variety of terrains and contrasts, different subjects and then move on to something else.  I was there this morning and apart from the trees there were lots of other ideas such as grasses, bracken, brambles, campions etc as well as the vistas.

It might be an idea to take a lightweight chair along with drawing implements, sketch book and watercolours if you want to paint. Don’t forget water for drinking and for your paints.

Directions
From Aylsham market place take the Blickling Road, go past the hall and continue for about 1.9 miles then take the right turn to Itteringham (signed Itteringham, Walpole Arms) Just a short way along this lane take the first  right turn (signed Itteringham Common) and continue along until you reach a sharp left hand bend (there’s a cottage on the right side) turn right again (signed Moorgate / Ingworth) and then carry on until the road goes sharp left and the car park is ahead of you on your right.
This is the way I go, but I know there are other routes.

Hopefully the weather will be fine and dry, but we will meet regardless of the weather unless it is absolutely pouring down.

If you have any questions, just email me

Mary

You can also come, from Aylsham, along the same Blickling Road, pass Blickling Old Hall on your right, and Flashpit Farm on your right and at that bend turn right towards Ingworth, take first left for Itteringham and the Fishermans Car Park. Continue past the Fishermans Carpark, until you eventually come to the Woodgate Carpark where you would then turn left into the carpark, with the cottage on your right.

I shall be taking a chair, hat, hot water bottle (just in case) paints, brush, pencil, pen, ink, water in bottle, kitchen paper, hard backed water colour pad or book.

I will be there unless heavyish rain falling, if in doubt my mobile is 07788162329,

Tina
