OPPORTUNITIES..........

Just to remind you that if you have missed classes this term then you might choose to make them up by coming to another venue when you can. You are always welcome to do this. You might like the idea of trying your hand at PORTRAIT work, ( don't forget it's 1.00-4.00 at Cawston) and if you do then you only need to pay £2 or £3 towards the cost of the model. If you fancy drawing or painting 'en plein air' at Hunworth then join us there, see the address below.

HOLT...

a view of some of the Holt group, hard at work. Sadly no display space at this hall, so its hard to display their work usually. I just had to take a special pic of these two truly outstanding pieces of work. A version of one of Audobon's birds, and an amazing Van Gogh view of Salthouse Church!

Marsham, end of term...

STOP PRESS...HOLT TO HUNWORTH...

THE HOLT class in moving to HUNWORTH VILLAGE HALL for the summer term. This is because of projected building work at the Holt venue. While at Hunworth we will take advantage of the pretty rural location to do loads of landscape work, working outside whenever we can.
The address in King Street, NR24 2EQ. It's just along the road from the Hunny Bell pub.
And if you are someone who occasionally catches up on your missed classes by coming to Holt then please make a note of the change, as from April 15th.

Marsham...

I havn't shown you much from the groups lately, that's because everyone has been working on individual projects and at a different pace and not much has been finished till now, as we get towards the end of term. So here is some of the work from Marsham which is finished or nearly finished.....the main object of the term's work has been to learn about how other artists work, and learn about their tecniques by close examination of their work......

WATER-COLOUR

Some of the people in our Tuesday afternoon class at Marsham have expressed an interest in more Water-colour practice. They are interested in trying to push the boundaries and exploiting what this versatile medium can do! So next term is going to be a water-colour term. There is some room in this class if this is an area you would like to explore......

Work from Monday 16th March...

what inventive and fascinating work we got from the latest of our lovely models. This is only a small sample since wall space in limited, everyone completed at least six big drawings and at one stage the floor was littered with so many drawings you could hardly walk!
Another model next week for the last week of term.

Monday again...

The same model as last week, and I think that the experience of drawing the same person several times helps with accuracy and understanding. New model and charcoal next week......

Animal Life

I forgot to mention that during half term we went to Lavenham, and visited The Wildlife Gallery. This is run by Andrew Haslen, the artist who made the Lino Cut you see here. He makes a black and white image by printing it and then paints with Water Colour.
